Final week

Snow on the Raggeds are so beautiful but BRRRRRR.

We were surrounded by 200 head of cows the entire week.  Boy was it noisy.
Grandpa putting signs together to help direct traffic to the mountain
Grandpa got carried away with sharpening his hatchet.
We think a bear saw his reflection and smacked the window.  Boy is he in trouble
The elusive elk showed back in two different locations  and two different days.  So Grandpa was very happy

John & Pam's family come for a visit

John, Pam, and family came for a visit and we spent a week up on the mountain.  Thank goodness John and Pam planned the menus and did most of the cooking.  Poor Pam was trying to not have a heart attack with John John and his "No Fear" attitude.  The family helped us clear trails, cut up wood, put girls camp to bed for the winter, and clear the brush and dead trees out of the roadway.  There were afternoon thunder showers for the first couple of days and boy did things get muddy and dirty. They headed home Saturday morningbefore the weather really turned bad.  It rained all Saturday night, all Sunday, and was drizzling rain Monday.  There was snow on all the mountains surrounding us.  What a change in the weather.  Thank you Davis family for all of your hard work!!!
Love ya tons

Sneaky Crystal

Crystal came home for several days this month.  She showed us her new car, got me signed in to Facebook, Pinterest, and a few other things.  We had the temple that weekend, so she even had time to make sneaky plans.  Came home and found this sign on our door.  She had invited a few friends out to celebrate my early birthday.  She made a cake and even got a black table cloth.  We had an enjoyable evening.

THANKS DAUGHTER :) :)

Animal Week

This past week was a week of seeing all kinds of different critters.  We saw a lot of green frogs, a weasel, deer, the elusive elk, black bears, turkeys, and of course tons of chipmunks :)

This doe was so curious, that she kept walking straight toward me.
There were about eight turkeys runing around together
Elk were in a pasture just north of where the trailer is.  There were 5 cows and three calves.

 Enjoy another beautiful sunset.

Little Hitler

Hummingbirds hang around the cabins but they love it when people bring up feeders.  Only problem is that we have one bird that is a little Hitler.  He guards either a tree or a certain area or he claimed one of the feeders for himself.  He chases everything out of his territory.  He loves to dive bomb people and other things.  I have threatened him with my hat several times, the little jerk.  He will sit on a small branch or the electric line and survey his territory.  Then he swoops into action.  The last two pictures are of the little devil.  Enjoy :)

Rachel's Baptism

We were able to journey back to Missouri for Rachel's baptism this year.  It just seems that she was a baby yesterday.  We made a pre-stop at the Kansas City Temple as we journeyed to Missouri.  Another awesome House of the Lord.

When we got to the Davis home, there was no place to park, so Jason got out his fancy snow blower and made a place for us.  Their town had more snow than any other place we had traveled through.
Our motel had a swimming pool, so Rachel, Kyle, and Diane came for a swim.
Diane and Harold watched Kyle do some hunting with their Wii
Kayla, Hailey, and Courtnie(missing) with Melissa accompaning sang a special number for the baptism.
Here is our beautiful princess Rachel and her dad
