Holidays in Arizona

The last week in Arizona we celebrated three holidays.  We did Halloween, Easter, and then Valentine's Day.  Aunt Diane, Harold, Carrie and Cody, and I were in different rooms where the kids had to come and knock on our doors.  Cody loved opening the door and dropping in the candy as long as he got a piece also. For Easter, Grandpa entertained Cody while the kids colored Easter eggs.  The kids love to hide them as much as find them.  Cody picks up every egg he can see before we could start looking.  And finally Valentine's Day, we incorporated the kids making their Valentines for school and friends.  Again Cody just wanted the candy.

Sunday and Crystal's birthday

Sunday was Crystal's birthday and we always bake her a cake in Arizona, Skype her so the kids can sing Happy Birthday and blow out the candles for her.  Of course we have the added bonus of getting more cake and ice cream.  Here are the kids ready for church.

New style of camping

Cody was up in Mesa helping Grandpa pick up a small RV to take to the camp out this year.  He was running around in the parking lot when he started to fall.  He caught himself with his hands but his head overloaded the operation and he smacked his head on the pavement.  He loved to play around in the RV though.  RV worked great and we will probably do the same thing next year.  Allen (Little Richard) had pneumonia, so just drove out for a couple of day trips.  Steven also just came out for day trips.  Mainstays of the camp was Harold, Kenny, and Don.

JL helped their neighbor lay sod and the extra was given to them.  Small patch of heaven :)
We were able to get a hold of Larry Ethington, so he stopped by to gab with the cousins.

We celebrated Hanna's birthday early like we do every year.  She loves having the extra birthdays.

Second trip to the temple with the brothers

Carrie was able to get more tickets for the open house for the brothers to attend.  She was also gracious enough to take time out of her busy schedule to go with us.  Cody was all over the place but once he entered into the endowment room and then the celestial room, he started oohing and pointing his finger at different things in the rooms.  Totally impressed the workers.  Hanna loved riding the elevator with Uncle Allen and Grandpa.

Lady came up and wanted to take my picture with the brothers.  Told her I was the outlaw of the family and then she had to laugh and took the picture anyway.

Jason's fast visit to AZ

Jason drove Aunt Diane down to Casa Grande, AZ in her RV.  They got in late Friday night.  Jason had drove almost straight through with very little sleep.  We got up Saturday morning and head to the Gilbert Temple Open House.  We had to stand in line for about and hour before we started the tour.  Ate dinner at Mattas, toured Pro Bass shop, and then delivered Jason to the airport to fly home.  Another long day for him.  It was so good to get to visit with him for a little bit.  Hanna fell in love with her Uncle Jason.

First Week in Arizona

We were able to go to Arizona several days earlier than we planned.  We totally surprised the grandchildren.  Got tons of hugs and kisses.  We were able to get a few projects done for Carrie and also got to babysit.
Cody thinks he needs his hair blow dried also.
Carrie and Justin heading out to den meetings.  Cody stayed with us.
Carrie is working from home now with the same company that JL works at.  She works most evenings for several hours.
One project we completed was hemming up her kitchen curtains with a little bit on ingenuity.
Carrie always complains that she never gets to have her own birthday, so we deemed Jan 31st her makeup birthday this year :)
