Visit with Davis Family

John and Pam wanted to bring the kids over to go four wheeling and Pam has never seen an elk out in the wild so we set four goals for our trip.  We took everyone four wheeling, track down elk, check on Wayne's crash site, and some education items.  All things are within a 60 mile radius.  Wind and cold were trying to defeat us but we persevered. :) Actually you had to add in all the dirt in the air also.
We were able to go to the top of the Bookcliffs and to the crash site without any snow or muddy roads.  It is so dry.  We spotted an elk herd and deer right by the crash site.  Way to early for this to be happening.   We stopped on the way up the canyon at the explorer Robidous' sign and looked at the Indian writings on the walls on both sides of the canyon.  Shannon is going to use this in one of her reports for school.  We went over to Rabbit Valley to take the kids on the Trail Through Time.  They all loved the dinosaur bones.  Each day we rode we kept our eyes open for wildlife.  Harold and Caleb about got ran over by deer and elk multiple times.  Caleb was in seventh heaven.  Thank goodness we ended up taking the Wally and the gray ATV trailer because the Gray became our place to eat and to get out of the wind and dirt.  We thoroughly enjoyed our visit with the Davis family.
